The support4northernkids website is a portal developed to assist in searching key services, supports and resources in the area of community mental health and well-being of school-aged children and youth in North Eastern Ontario. Our area of focus is the Highway 11 corridor from Temagami to Hearst plus the communities of Moosonee and Moose Factory.
The support4northernkids logo symbolizes the support, care and attention offered by area school boards, school authorities, agencies and organizations. The integration of the tepee and house demonstrate our respect for the people of Northern Ontario.
The list of services and supports on this portal is meant to be a guide and is not exhaustive. This website is updated periodically and users should understand that some services, supports and contacts may experience change prior to the update being completed.
This website has come to fruition as part of the Cluster 14 Student Support Leadership Initiative through the Ministry of Child and Youth Services and the Ministry of Education. As of September 2010 the Ministry of Health will be an additional partner in this endeavour. It is our hope that this website assists in improving awareness of services and supports in our communities.
